In this book, Tony Robbins book provides a step-by-step process for achieving a peak state of being in order to achieve success in all areas of personal and professional life. It maps out seven key areas of focus: passion, belief, strategy, clarity of values, energy, bonding power, and mastery of communication.
An important aspect of the book is Robbins’ focus on “state,” (defined as the neurophysical condition that amounts to the “sum total of our experience at any moment in time.”), how it impacts behavior and how one can take control to dictate his or her state. Ultimately, Robbins declares that the difference between those who consistently achieve their goals and those who do not is the ability to consciously put themselves in a state that supports them in their achievements.
The Tony Robbins Philosophy
The two books are quite similar and they both provide insight into the overall “Tony Robbins Philosophy”. As an author and a motivational speaker, Robbins focuses heavily on beliefs, thought-patterns, and conditioning the mind for success. He relies heavily on research in the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) as well as his own experience working with individuals. He teaches that “success is a process, a way of life, a habit of mind and a strategy for life.”
While Tony Robbins has certainly seen his fair share of criticism, his books are both inspiring and well-researched. He is an important and influential part of the self-help genre.
